Well, they may send a lot of updates and have really long tracking numbers, but my package seems to be moving along nicely so I won't complain!
Thanks, Mark. It’s a solid folder indeed. A manual opener that works very much like Benchmade’s Axis Lock.
Thanks Jamie, actually I blame you and Charlie. After showing all those green beauties, I saw this one and it became a must have.
Thank you John.
Thanks Dan. You picked up a couple of good looking Opinal there. Olivewood does look nice and is a very dense and durable wood.Dan In MI wrote: ↑Fri May 06, 2022 3:02 pm Great pick-ups, y'all! Herb, what year is the Case? John, I believe that'll be a great companion for your woods wanders! And Smitty...no wonder those had to come your way; they're stunning!
A thanks to Doglegg for the kind words!
The mailman brought me a pair of Opinel No. 6s in olivewood today. A small water stone and a dishwasher-safe paring knife were also in the package.

Good looking Hawk Rick. I believe the D.O.G. stood for Deadbolt Over Grabstep, which had to do with the locking mechanism.
Yeah, that's it, Smitty! Thank you! I can never remember that!Papa Bones wrote: ↑Fri May 06, 2022 11:05 pmGood looking Hawk Rick. I believe the D.O.G. stood for Deadbolt Over Grabstep, which had to do with the locking mechanism.
You will not hear I’m sorry… it’s truly a beautiful knife… I buy a knife like that and when I’m ordering it I tell myself I’m going to carry it and when I get it I can’t make myself put it in my pocket…it goes behind glass cabinetPapa Bones wrote: ↑Fri May 06, 2022 11:02 pmThanks Jamie, actually I blame you and Charlie. D.O.G. Is an acronym for the name of the locking mechanism but I never can remember what it stands for. It’s an odd name and not easy to remember.
One I keep looking at!!WillyCamaro wrote: ↑Sat May 07, 2022 4:53 am Ma Natrix hit home yesterday.
@ just a hair under $70 total take home (Canadian, for all my 'murican brothers); all I can say is, I'm happy with taking the jump into better flippers.

You knocked it out of the park with that one!!Papa Bones wrote: ↑Fri May 06, 2022 3:08 am Lastly, another one that I thought had some beautiful bone. A 1999 6215 SSM Small gunstock. Smooth Chestnut Appaloosa Bone handles, with the oval CASE XX shield. Like new, in the box with original paper wrap and card, no wear on the blades and never put to a stone. Another that the bone said take me home.
A very good looking Kershaw Willy!!WillyCamaro wrote: ↑Sat May 07, 2022 4:53 am Ma Natrix hit home yesterday.

A couple good Barlow pickups for me this week.
First a Case 62009 1/2 in caramel bone, because I’m a sucker for the barnboard jigging.
Then a Corning knife co with delrin. Kind of beat up, but I used to live in Corning NY. It’s a conversation piece.

Very nice Smitty!Papa Bones wrote: ↑Sat May 07, 2022 9:33 pm Received a couple to add to my Camillus Family. First a Camillus long line #16 3-5/8" Equal End Jack. It is like new, and shows no signs of being put on a stone. Blades have some stains, but no pitting, and awesome snap. Cabone handles with what I think some call a Gimp Shield?

Next is a Camillus Cyber Knife II pattern CY2. This one is like new, doesn't have any signs of being sharpened, but does have some flecks on the edge of the green mother board handles. These were produced from 2000 to 2001 and about 5000 were produced. There have been some fakes produced, I believe this one is authentic, as I know the person I got it from, the rivets look to be correct and pattern on the handles look correct. But if any of the experts here can give their input I would appreciate it.

Thanks Marc. the Cabone handles were a description made by camillus in their catalogs. i believe it just basically related to to the color mix of the delrin along with the jigging. They are basically delrin handles, but the mixture of colors do look pretty good, and does look similar to polished bone. If the sun ever comes back out I will take some more photos of the Cyber Knife. The sun had ducked behind the clouds and the photos make it look like an extreme difference between the handle. The mark side is a little darker than the pile side, but not as drastic as the photos look.Madmarco wrote: ↑Sat May 07, 2022 9:57 pm
Very nice Smitty!Really like how smooth and round your Equal End Jack is, and never having heard of "Cabone" handles or 'Gimp" Shield I learned somethin' new today! I've been fascinated with those mother board covers since I first saw them, but your pictures are the best I've seen that show some detail! Pretty darn cool!
