Tekna Xtra Edge "Watersports Key Ring Knife". Bought these as pocket-carry fixed blades, but I think I'm going to use them as neck knives as well.
I bought both blunt/screwdriver blades (which still offers enough of a point for opening packaging) and the regular drop point. While thin and just under 3.5" OAL, they're not bad in the hand.
They're both US-made, and use 420HC. They did a good job sharpening them, but I'm not sure on the security of how they attached the handles to the blades.
The blunt tip's handle isn't very secure, and can be pulled off with little effort. Apparently, Tekna doesn't mold the handles on like basically everyone else.
I'm torn on keeping it and sending it back. I may make custom handles for it, but I'm not sure if it's safe as-is. Should likely send it back, but it may be intentional to be able to remove the blade for cleaning.

Herbva,
The 6254 Trapper you have is not Appaloosa bone. It is just a trait of the dye process during the late 70's and continuing into the 1990's. As far as I know the Appaloosa bone handled knives started in 1979 with the A being added in front of the pattern number. Case has made random production runs of various Appaloosa bone handled knives since then. I hope this helps. Rick.

Received these in the mail today. All new Case brand.
First a 2020 TB61117 SS Swayback in what Case called Bose Clover Bone Sawcut with the black CASE Clover shield. It ticked all the right boxes for me, Green, Swayback, Clover Shield and Wharncliffe blade. Still new, in the box with all papers. Next, a 2003 Case Brothers line 61265LC Chestnut bone Folding Hunter Lockblade. It has the arched CASE BROS. CUTLERY CO. tang stamp on the mark side of the blade with USA 61265LC SS in the pile side. The Clip Blade has the CASE BROTHERS etch, and a thumb stud. Jigged Chestnut bone with the large federal shield, and on the pile side has a stud mounted pocket clip on the front bolster. Came like new in original tin with outer sleeve, and all original papers and sued leather knife slip. Couldn't help myself, the bone spoke to me Lastly, another one that I thought had some beautiful bone. A 1999 6215 SSM Small gunstock. Smooth Chestnut Appaloosa Bone handles, with the oval CASE XX shield. Like new, in the box with original paper wrap and card, no wear on the blades and never put to a stone. Another that the bone said take me home.

Herb! Both gorgeous knives, but when I saw your new Maserin open I started drooling!herbva wrote: ↑Thu May 05, 2022 10:23 pm These 2 puppies arrived today and I couldn't be happier. I spent about an hour cleaning them up and that's all (none of Herb's custom mods). The Case '54 looks like "appaloosa" bone to me, but I don't seen an "A" in the pattern stamp. Anyone know when Case started adding the "A" to the pattern stamp for appaloosa? Oh, and the '54 came from an actual, real auction (Zottlemoyer in Fogelsville PA). I bid on 8 different auctions that day (on-line), and got beat by people who were there in person on all of them except this one. Sorry for the dark pics, I just lost most of the sunlight for today.

But it will save quite a bit on shipping charges, you have to send out 8-10 packages a week to make the savings but you never know what tracking number system they hit you with.Madmarco wrote: ↑Fri May 06, 2022 4:15 amI notice you had to use the Global Shipping with their 87 digit tracking numbersJamieinWV wrote: ↑Thu May 05, 2022 11:18 pmI was going to use a refrigerator box but didn’t have one…your welcomejmh58 wrote: ↑Thu May 05, 2022 11:05 pm Today’s score!!

Re: Mail Call !-Post your new pick-ups here............
Great pick-ups, y'all! Herb, what year is the Case? John, I believe that'll be a great companion for your woods wanders! And Smitty...no wonder those had to come your way; they're stunning!
A thanks to Doglegg for the kind words!
The mailman brought me a pair of Opinel No. 6s in olivewood today. A small water stone and a dishwasher-safe paring knife were also in the package.
