Beautiful knives across the board, everybody!!!

Will you all once again give me some knife education, please?

What exactly is the defining characteristic of a Jack? How would, say, a "mini Jack" differ from a peanut? Is a Jack "straight" while a peanut curved?

Help! I'm confused...but in a good way...

Resting lo these past six years, I thought I'd dig up Charlie's (upnorth) old thread on English Jacks and try to pump some life into it. I may be the only one left on the forum who has a thing for English Jacks. I hope not. If ya got 'em, trot 'em out. Here's mine.

A recently made QCCC (Queen City Cutlery Company)

One from the new Queen City series.

One from Schatt & Morgan's File & Wire Series 3. This is Edition #2.

From 2008, another Schatt & Morgan from Keystone Series XVIII.

This is #7 from the Schatt & Morgan Premier Series, made in 2005. It doesn't really fit the English Jack genre because it's too small but S&M called it an English Jack and since it's such a classy little dude, I'm including it here.

All but the last one fit very nicely in a Queen walnut display case I got from Mike Latham over at CollectorKnives.net. Thanks Mike.

I hope to add more this year but that remains to be seen.

If any large sleeveboard qualifies, then this is also an "English" jack at 4-1/2".

It is pattern no. 622119. A Roberson Shuredge.

At 4-1/2" I'd say that qualifies. Good looking knife. Wouldn't mind having one myself.

Yes Dragon that is a nice Robeson and a typical English jack.

Thanks Jerry,along with that Ulster rooster nkife ,this one has a lot of character. Aside from rooster combs ,one of my favorites.

Here's another Robeson 622151 4 1/2 inch with a painted shield. I'm not sure why it's painted like that, cost saving,WW11 conservation?Slim
