I agree, having a local manufacturer would be awesome. Im pretty excited for these guys.

Re: Henry Brothers Cutlery
I sold some of these supposedly American made knives in my shop when we first opened. It wasn't long until the Henry Bros knives I had sold started coming back with loose blades, lost badges & handle mtl., etc. One day, under the microscope appeared the remnants of a buffed etch..."CHINA". On closer inspection, all remaining stock bore the same buffed etch.
I do carry a few high quality, low cost, Made in China brands in order to meet the need of my customers but I am honest and upfront with my customers.
I no longer carry Henry Brothers Knives.

smith&sons,
Thanks for the post!
Wished I hadn't got rid of my Henry Brothers so quick. I thought about a buffed etch but didn't put it under a scope. Good idea.
Thought that might be the case.
I saw what appeared to be copies of other knives at the Winnie Flea Market, too. I also noticed the knife pouches & cases that looked just like the ones Moore Maker sells. There were even some "unmarked" Bokers, and most patterns were copies of Case knives.
Sounds like my first impression was right...."Buyer beware".
Where is you shop located? Can't tell by Googling "smith and sons". Can you send your website address?

Re: Henry Brothers Cutlery
I just saw an episode of Bob Phillips's Texas Country Reporter that was about Henry Brothers Cutlery - and the hand made walking sticks they make for veterans. Very neat person, and "company". The address probably is his house and shop where he makes his goods.
