I got 3 in the mail this week. The first a Schrade Walden (1946-1973) hawk bill. I saw it listed at a buy it now price of $15 on ebay. I thought 'I should offer $10 and see if he would accept. But I didn't. Then up popped a Seller offers this knife at $10 email. So I had no choice.
2nd the franken 72 3 spring whittler. I'll post more pics in the Camillus 72 thread.
3rd a 'Bird" 72 clone. Pics in the 72 clone thread. Thanks for lookingDSCN6704.JPGDSCN6709.JPGDSCN6711.JPGDSCN6718.JPGDSCN6719.JPG

Philip, we must have stumbled into the middle of the Hawk Bill migration! Great pick up. Lots of meat on the bones of that one. I don't recall ever seeing a Western HB before. Congrats.treefarmer wrote: ↑Tue Oct 20, 2020 8:44 pmMust be the time of the month for hawk bills. This one is a Western U.S.A. 854 UTILITY complete with tar paper residue and half stop. The blade is full and should clean up nicely.004.JPG

Really cool knife!Sharpnshinyknives wrote: ↑Wed Oct 21, 2020 12:10 am Got this one in yesterday. Been too busy to buy many knives lately. I don’t normally buy vintage knives but this one was speaking to me. The tang stamp is interesting, it’s an elf with a pocket knife on his shoulders. The seller has another one with the name of H. Dinger on it that also has the elf on it. Made in the 1930’s. Pearl handles and stainless steel blades and in excellent condition.
