David, that is fine bath room reading material. ::nod::

I got 3 in the mail this week. The first a Schrade Walden (1946-1973) hawk bill. I saw it listed at a buy it now price of $15 on ebay. I thought 'I should offer $10 and see if he would accept. But I didn't. Then up popped a Seller offers this knife at $10 email. So I had no choice.
2nd the franken 72 3 spring whittler. I'll post more pics in the Camillus 72 thread.
3rd a 'Bird" 72 clone. Pics in the 72 clone thread. Thanks for looking ::handshake::

Must be the time of the month for hawk bills. I like the looks of the old gal Floyd picked up.
I found one a bit newer but about that half price. Love rootin' around in the shallow end of the bay. ::tu::
This one is a Western U.S.A. 854 UTILITY complete with tar paper residue and half stop. The blade is full and should clean up nicely.

Philip, we must have stumbled into the middle of the Hawk Bill migration! Great pick up. Lots of meat on the bones of that one. I don't recall ever seeing a Western HB before. Congrats. ::handshake::

Floyd, under the tar paper residue I found this ol’ knife was hiding another secret, she must have been an electrician as well as a roofer. There is evidence of an electrical arc on the pile side and a tiny spot on the edge of the blade. Still a bargain at $5.95. :)

Got this one in yesterday. Been too busy to buy many knives lately. I don’t normally buy vintage knives but this one was speaking to me. The tang stamp is interesting, it’s an elf with a pocket knife on his shoulders. The seller has another one with the name of H. Dinger on it that also has the elf on it. Made in the 1930’s. Pearl handles and stainless steel blades and in excellent condition.
