Thanks thanks thanks Junebug for the specs and name, is that a mass produced, or special order or something? Doesn't look like the kind with antique bone covers or something like that.

Got it, guess you can screw on different covers. But I wondered if they came with natural cover choices, or just tactical looking? Thanks again.junebug wrote:VERY NICE INDEED, MEL![]()

YES, IF YOU HAVE THEM MADE (aka AFTER MARKET) , YOU CAN INSTALL THEM (BONE,STAG,ETC) ON ANY ALL SCREW CONSTRUCTION KNIFE.
SPYDERCO DOES MAKE BONE ,WOOD,AND STAG HANDLED KNIVES ,YES.
BUT NOT THIS KNIFE/SERIES ...YET!!! NEXT ONE OUT COULD BE?
OR A SPRINT RUN
= aka LIMITED FACTORY RUN.
BY "TACTICAL LOOKING" , DO YOU MEAN THE TITANIUM METAL THEY ARE MADE OF IN MY PICTURE........NO, SAGE 2 = Ti
others = carbon fiber,g10,wood............ AS OF NOW, MAYBE NEXT ONE WILL BE BONE OR STAG?????
THEY MAKE EVERY ONE DIFFERENT
YOU WOULD HAVE TA ASK SAL GLESSER THAT ONE............

Re: WHAT ARE YOU CARRYIN RIGHT NOW? WHAT IS YOUR FAV EDC?
I once got to try out/handle a Sage Carbon Fiber S30V for a couple weeks.
ALWAYS wanted one of my own but never was able to get one.
I think the Ti handled frame lock version might even be more cool!
At this point in time I aren't carrying anything. There is a Chen 12C27 neck knife close to hand.

You guys certainly don't make it easy for a newbie to the hobby to try and define/refine what to collect.

Welcome to the club Warden. I define what to collect as the knives I want and am willing to pay for. I refine that when I get more disposable funds. My two pennies.Steve Warden wrote:You guys certainly don't make it easy for a newbie to the hobby to try and define/refine what to collect.

Steve, half of the knives I collect I'd never seen or heard of until I joined here. It's an addiction I tell ya!Steve Warden wrote:You guys certainly don't make it easy for a newbie to the hobby to try and define/refine what to collect.

But seriously, I decided that I am not a collector. I'm an accumulator. I accumulate knives I like and I'll let my wife and sons worry about collector value when I'm gone.

Re: WHAT ARE YOU CARRYIN RIGHT NOW? WHAT IS YOUR FAV EDC?
Cleaned, polished, buffed, lubed, wiped down. Before pics of it on page 772. After below. Main edge was folded over, really trashed shape. Had to regrind and make a new edge, other than that just clean up and restore some shine. Friend said it was his granddad's, dated '45-55. Lots of hard miles on it but now it will shave hair effortlessly, lift any cap, turn a few screws and whatever.

Many thanks TrippleF, Hammer Brand USA says the tang. The dating buffs gave me the date of 1945-55 five pages back, hat tip to them.
