Thank you gentlemen. I'll do a little cleaning on it and make sure my inventory notes document it's history. This is what knife collecting is all about....dlr110 wrote: ↑Tue May 25, 2021 11:44 pm This was truly a knife find of the day. Cheryl has been in her Mom's (Vera) room trying to clean things out and figure out what to do with all her belongings. Cheryl came across this little knife that her Mom had been hanging onto ever since her Husband (Jim) passed away in 2014.
It's a Schrade Walden NY USA. Jim was a court reporter and he carried this little knife every day to court until he retired in 1991. It's not much, but it holds some special memories.

Glad to hear it Scott. Just out of curiosity I checked my records.
I have purchased at least 24 knives from you. Now that your back in the game hopefully I can purchase many more.

We usually try to make it the Monday after Father's Day but not this year, maybe we'll be able to go around Grandpa's 98th birthday late in August.

Re: KNIFE FINDS OF THE DAY
Jerry, you'd be disappointed. Grandpa is a teetotaler and probably been one his whole life. Back when he was a cow-hunter he probably drank a lot of swamp water. I know in some places "swamp water" is slang for untaxed spirits that usually come out of the woods but as far as we know he has always abstained.
He takes no prescription medicines and Thursday he is supposed to undergo cataract surgery on the right eye. He is still driving his old pickup truck and cutting up an occasional beef.

Nothing really great here in this bunch, but I like finding clean up/restoration projects. An interesting variety of "Sharp" items...

I like the electrician's knife...and is that a scrimshaw'd Barlow at lower keft?
Yes indeed, especially that little one-hand opener.

The electricians knife is a Robeson, and the barlow has a fly scrimshaw on bone....I have it listed on ebay.

Re: KNIFE FINDS OF THE DAY
Found this yesterday in Annapolis. C.1958 WEST-CUT, Boulder, Colo. hunter. "Wood-Craft" style. 8-3/4" overall, 4-3/4" blade. Pretty, red-green-brown=gold mottled handle, possibly Bakelite.
It's hardly used and appears not resharpened. Came with a custom-made sheath that fits very well. I don't generally collect fixed blades but it was so nice it caught my eye. I posted it on the WESTERN forum too. J.O'.
