well used Boker Barlow

Post by treefarmer »

What do y'all think this knife was used for? The main blade, a razor shape, is sharpened from the mark side only, a concave shape with a chisel grind. ::hmm:: The secondary pen hasn't been touched, that makes me think it was used for something other than regular pocketknife use.
The walk and talk is great with half stops.
Any comments?

I think the arch is irrelevant and likely caused from sharpening on a grinder.
Someone didn't have time for the fofora of a double bevel and if you sharpen it that way it will cut that way.

Grinder abuse. Reminds me of how my grandfather taught me how to sharpen knives using the concrete curb on the street where they lived. ::teary_eyes::

Our local pawnshop had a whole pile of once-nice old knives, but someone used a grinder on every last one of them, every blade, until they were just ribbons like this one. Unbelievable abuse.
