Re: Mail Call !-Post your new pick-ups here............
Smith's Edgework-Site "Wharncliffe" (though it's really a sheepsfoot) folder.
I bought it as one, plain-edge sheepsfoot one-hand openers are rare, and secondly, I needed a cheap beater. However, I have two complaints--it's excessively heavy (not much less than a 110) and the blade opens when its dropped. I usually adjust pivots to ensure that doesn't happen, so it's getting that treatment as soon as I find my T8 Torx bit .
Already put it to use cutting vines out of the barn--it did the job quite well.
I put it on the postal scale. Weighs a half-ounce more than a Taiwanese-made Titan Tools marlinspike I have. Plus, the marlinspike has a lifetime warranty if something fails--this one, diddly.
Not much difference in blade length or thickness, so I'm going to see how a thumb bar opener for a Buck 110 suits a marlinspike. The Titan has a strong spring but is not a nail breaker, so I suspect it will work well.
I think I'm sticking to the Mora 511 as my workhorse beater knife. Better steel, MUCH lighter, safer, and more reliable. If I feel like I need a thicker blade, I'll grab the Robust.
Spyderco's Pacific Salt would probably be best, but if I buy one of those, I'm afraid I may never buy another knife as it's got the right balance of blade shape, toughness, and low weight. Plus, it's kind of pricey.

Nice ones!
I think Case did red bone better on older knives. The new ones are just too red. I have a 2021 Copperhead that's an EDC, and originally planned to get bone, but I think I'll hold out for a vintage example.

And with carbon blades they seem to tone up to make a very good looking knife, something stainless cant pull off IMHO

Fished this little fellow out of the bay recently. It is from our own herbva. He's got some knice offerings over there. Not my usual kind of knife but the wharncliff blade got me. Also that it might be elephant tooth. Still not sure if it is but I am pleased with it nonetheless. Thanks herbva and thanks for looking.

Nice score doglegg! Your right about herbva’s eBay store. I haven’t bought anything from him yet but he does have a good selection of knives.
These two came in today. A CKRT razzlecliff. And Kershaw Scallion. It’s supposed to be a factory second but I can’t find anything that would make it so. Both knives function well and are razor sharp.

Just found out why the Kershaw Scallion is a second. There should be three holes near the thumb stud and the blade has four x’s on the last line of the blade etch. Still a good knife
