Old and Obscure Brands

Didn't really know where to post this one but figured it is Obscure.

I've always liked patented items; this one is called Simore Lightning Change tool/knife. It works like a gravity tool, there are numbers on the body of the tool and if you rotate the bottom to the correct number and turn the handle so the toll can drop out, you can get a screwdriver or a knife blade. Once the item is out you pull on it to extend it all the way and then you turn the top locking part to lock the tool out. Heavey little tool and very cool. Manufactured by Simon & Skidmore. The patent was applied for in 1922 and given on Jan 9, 1923.

I think there a few more of this brand posted in this thread. I picked this whittler pattern up on Sunday.

As others have mentioned, Charles E Brewster was a wholesale druggist and Grocers specialist. The knives were made and imported from others. This knife has "Germany" on the blade.

Here's one I can't find anything about. SUPREME, USA. 3-5/8", black composite scales, carbon pins, milled or cast aluminum frame,(integral bolsters), no liners. Walks and talks very well.Really lightweight like a Kutmaster Featherlight Girl Scout. I've seen SUPREME STAINLESS marks but I believe they're German. Any info appreciated. J.O'.

Yeah it has snap but the main blade appears to have had some work. One spot might have been welded or a spot cleaned where some metal was sanded down. It just has a ripple. Otherwise it appears good, origional, and works right.___Dave
