Old Knives With Sheepfoot Blades

Picked up another sheepsfoot jack, a large feeling just over 3 3/4" John Primble India Steel Works. Looking at the bone and bolster thinking it may have been made by Miller Bros.

Another treasure, beautiful bone and a swedge on the blade.

Sheepsfoot jacks are my favorite pattern to collect, a few I've found over the years with help from friends. Not an easy pattern to find.

Gosh dang John R, that is an incredible array of fabulous old knives, like a museum. Wow are those fabulous. The bones are stunning.

Another Sheepsfoot arrived today, 3 7/8" Valley Forge, style of bone makes me think late 1800's early 1900's.

Ivoryman, very nice Schrade Cut it has that 2nd style jigged bone which I call divot jigged bone. It came after the pick bone but before the peachseed jigged bone. Some say that divot jigged bone was done on the George Schrade jigging machine.

That is a sweetie FRJ, love the gentle graceful swayback lines and that patina. Killer bones and rat tails too of course. Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice.

It really is a dandy little knife. 3 1/4" closed. Both tangs stamped.

I have never sharpened it but I think I will soon and carry it for a day or two.
