The 6347 and variants should be 3-7/8 inches, which is what this looks like to me judging by the ruler shown. It’s difficult to judge by a ruler laid beside a knife - I hate it when sellers do that. The angle of the picture can easily change the perceived length by 1/8 inch or more.
The 63047 has a California clip blade, which the pictured knife does not have. 630047 has no shield and iron liners and bolsters, made during WWII (BTW yet another example that the TESTED XX stamp was used well after 1940). The OP pictures aren’t very clear, without having the knife in hand it’s hard to be certain but it looks to be a legitimate green bone 630047, based on the pictures. JMO

You know when I seen this I was so excited because I thought the same as you on pattern number . What hurt my feelings is I asked the guy straight up “ do all blades have opening an closing snap???” He said “ Yes Sir!” At that point I was even more excited so I bid accordingly to the info I had an not one blade has opened or closing snap. So now I’m stuck do I return or keep because your not going to find many of these with decently full blades an green bone handles in great shape!

The 630047 as cataloged in the Tested catalog had brass liners and nickel silver bolsters. It was "lower end" as compared to the 6347 since the liners were brass not nickel silver, and there was no shield. So lower priced.
Yes some 630047's were likely made during the WWII era with iron bolsters and liners, but brass liners are also correct for the pattern.
I saw that one on Ebay and passed on it mainly due to the light stamp.

My question would be how come it’s not 4 inch ? It’s definitely in every way you measure it 3 7/8 inch I even have another tested 6347 an it’s the exact same size exactly.

Sargent’s lists the pattern as 3-7/8 inches. I’d guess it may actually be more like 3-15/16. I think many of the lengths given in catalogs and references are close approximations. When they were made no one was obsessing over those details. I have some Starrett calipers in the shop somewhere - if I can find them I’ll measure a 6347 and a 63047.

Assuming this is a 6347? N/S liners. Any comments welcome. J.O'.
