Madmarco wrote: Wed Mar 16, 2022 10:19 pm Well, I had to make the trip to the post office today to retrieve this knife because it required a signature and the mail people don't accommodate that any longer due to the virus, so, technically I'm still gonna say it's a "Mail Call" knife! It was made in and shipped from Russia, and before you start sending me death threats I ordered it long before the trouble started and it simply took this long to get here. A 9 3/4" oal "Cadet" lockback with a D2 drop-point blade minus a n/n since the blade is wide enough to just pinch open, NS hardware, and ebony covers. Came with a very nice supple tanned leather hand stitched sheath that has been scrimshawed/engraved. This is a very nice folder that's steeped in quality materials and Russian workmanship! 8)WIN_20220316_15_54_01_Pro.jpgWIN_20220316_15_53_41_Pro.jpgWIN_20220316_15_54_34_Pro.jpg

This is technically an A. Wright & Sons knife, but it was sold as a custom made by Ashley Harrison, son of the new owner of the company. It is solid and has very nice F&F, which some of the Wright knives don't always have.

I received a couple of non-traditional Rough Riders today and here they are! A 6 3/4" oal RR1758 Southwestern pattern slip-joint Dr.'s knife, and a 10" oal RR2326 slip-joint "Toad-Sticker" with Buckshot covers! Straight into the unusual pile! 8)

It sure looks wicked, doesn't it Sam! ::sneaky:: I've been fascinated as to what uses that knife could have, so as soon as I found them with Buckshot covers instead of the tired old cream colored celluloid covers I pounced! I still have no idea what it's used for, but I'll tell ya, in-hand it's way cool! 8)

The RR2326 is interesting, I’ve not had one of those in my shop, but they are in stock through my distributor, so I threw a couple in my cart…I’ll handle that one sober or at least semi-sober

I’ve got a new pile of my own here.
Back in October I lost a dear friend to COVID. He was like an elder brother to me. I’ve recently been assisting with sorting through his things, and found these scattered around his house and work shop. None of them are patterns / models that I particularly care for, but the sentimental value is definitely there. I’m sure they’ll all find their way into my pocket at some point.

Two absolutely stunning knives, Glenn. I am green with envy (appropriate since today is St. Patrick's Day!) ::mdm::

What is the handle material on the white/blue shadow pattern Lloyd clip blade?

I'd give a pot-o-leprechaun gold to have a tour of your collection someday, yes indeed!

Haha, we all know it's YOUR collection everyone would want to see!

As to the Lloyd, the seller called it calico appaloosa bone, I think it is a certain dye version of giraffe, but don't know for sure. It's unique though, whatever it is!

Lot of nice stuff here fellas.
Received this box Full of knives yesterday and was only expecting one . The Ebony 72 Camillus with Ivory was done by Randy ( Goldpan ) . It’s now a favorite carry . He also gifted a lock back Hunter he did some 10 years ago with some gnarly covers. This one will go on a few Whitetail hunts . The modified warnie with reclaimed Oak barrel covers ,a Ulster 63 and super slim aluminum frame Barlow type .
Randy, you are a generous man and Thank you for hanging in there on the Ebony/ Ivory. It’s Great . ::tu:: ::tu::
