This other is a fairly new maker (to me), but he does make a fine knife...I think the material is Ivory G-10

I got this teriffic Phil Wilson designed Spyderco Bow River skinner in for review from JamieinWV today, and although it's a fixed blade and I'm a folder guy it's still a really nice little knife! 8 1/4" oal, 8Cr13MoV full tang trailing-back blade, SS pins and lanyard tube, and layered black/gray G-10 covers! Really comfortable to hold and as sharp as they come! A sturdy leather riveted belt sheath comes with the skinner! Because Jamie knows my penchant for BIG knives he included the humungous 5 1/2" oal cleaver for some serious vegetable chopping! LOL! 8)

Marco, I always enjoy the upswept tip and big belly of that blade pattern. It is ideal for my style of knife defensive tactics. This of course is a theoretical issue.

Thanks for your comments Garry. I didn't know exactly how to describe that blade pattern and was torn between drop-point and straight-back, but then I read the included literature and they called it a trailing-back blade so that's what I went with. 8)

Yep, that's my new knife Ken. ::tu:: Even though I'm only able to use it indoors I've been able to slice up some meat, cut string, and tear-down cardboard boxes, and I can totally agree with you, I love my Bow River! 8)

Well, I had to make the trip to the post office today to retrieve this knife because it required a signature and the mail people don't accommodate that any longer due to the virus, so, technically I'm still gonna say it's a "Mail Call" knife! It was made in and shipped from Russia, and before you start sending me death threats I ordered it long before the trouble started and it simply took this long to get here. A 9 3/4" oal "Cadet" lockback with a D2 drop-point blade minus a n/n since the blade is wide enough to just pinch open, NS hardware, and ebony covers. Came with a very nice supple tanned leather hand stitched sheath that has been scrimshawed/engraved. This is a very nice folder that's steeped in quality materials and Russian workmanship! 8)
