Help Identifying this knife....

Bought a large lot of fixed blade and folding knives from an estate. Among them was this knife. It is large (15.5" total length), and marked COL. CUT. U.S.A.
It feels industrial (butchers) as opposed to military to me, but I honestly have no idea what it's purpose is, or who made it. There is a Columbia Cutlery Co., but I can't find this knife (or any similar) made by them.

I considered that too, but I just cannot find any similar knives made by Colonial. The brass screw and nut construction seems fairly unique and I just cannot find anything similar. Thank you for the reply.

I agree could be Colonial but the knife appears to be a rehandled butcher knife as you suggest. Typical to see the stamp out on the blade with butcher knives. The sheath is from a Western W49 Bowie.

Thank you. Custom handle, reshaped cleaver (very thick blade). Makes sense to me. Thank you for your input, much appreciated.
