Boker or H&R???

looking at a new Boker congress to EDC, carbon steel blades.
I have noticed hen and rooster have one also. Anyone carry
any of these?? experiences with??? opinions?

Those two Congress models should be eeeerily similar.... Boker makes both.

But I expect the Boker would be a little lower priced.

Why this pattern for EDC?

I have a Boker congress I have had as one of my EDC knives for twenty plus years. I love mine and have no complaints as to how it rides in the pocket. It sharpens up to a shaving sharp edge quite easily and holds an edge as well as any carbon steel blade knife I've owned. It walks and talks like it did when it was new (all four blades-full and half stop). With four blades, I have a bit of versitility that is not there with only one or two blades, and there's always one razor sharp. Mine has pretty red bone handles and still looks good for a knife with a ton of miles on it. If I were limited to only one I could carry, it would be the one. It suits me to a tee, and always has.
I own exactly three H & Rs and have never carried any of them, so I can't comment on how they might function, other than to guess the quality would prove very similar.

Hey Jody,
Being that the congress pattern is my favorite pattern, I have a large Hen and Rooster congress with stag handles, this knife rides in my pocket very nice. I bought it back in 1994 to carry in my pocket. I had it sharpened by an older gentleman that used to be a knife dealer. It holds an edge that stays razor sharp.t is 4 1/4 inches long and has stainless blades. I also have an older stag handle smaller Hen and Rooster that I edc. It also has a great feel to it. I have several bokers too, they are great knives also.

I agree with Phil and Keith, I have no problem carryin' a congress around, and have a Boker Red Bone congress myself that has real nice carbon steel blades. I might get me one of those 4 1/4" Large Congress knives one of these days. Queen makes an Aged Honey Amber Stag Bone congress that's 4" closed, with D2 steel blades.

I really like my S&M premier congress, and just thought it would be fun
to have one in the edc rotation. The new Boker catalog has one in
imitation tortiseshell celluloid and the blades are different,
instead of 2 and 2 like most I have seen

Some times I'll have my knife, a cell phone, and a hand full of cough drops all in the same pocket without it being a problem (except for the weight trying to pull my pants down).
You may just need to wear looser fitting slacks.

Seriously, it's all in what you like. That's why they make so many different shapes and sizes and colors and...............................well you get the point.

I shoulda' mentioned, I wear suspenders or overalls, that helps
