Anyone know this stamping on knife

Post by Meigscl »

I have a friend that inherited some knives and one of them has us stumped. I will attach pics. Anyone know this stamp or maker?

No help on the stamping, but the style reminds me of this german knife.

This knife was re-handled, but originally had horn handles similar to yours.

::hmm:: Looks like it could be a Jb inside a circle, if that helps any? ::shrug::
Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!

I agree with glennbad, looks German, allthough it could also be French??
I paged through Carter's "Guide to German Knife and Sword Makers" and could not find that mark.
