Who knows something about my knife

Good day, i received this little knife from my dad, which belonged to his dad, can anyone please give more info about the knife and also the value it holds. The one side got a chip out unfortunately.

The fact that your dad and grandfather owned and used it makes it priceless to you.

Looks like decent blades but some composition scale issues. On eBay it would not sell for very much, but to AAPK!

As John said, the sentimental value is WAY more than any monetary value it might have (which is between very little and none).

It's a great keepsake, if you are not interested in carrying it. I'm sure it could be used the way it is, too, or if you wanted, the handles could be replaced--there are a number of folks here that do that kind of work, and do it well.

Hibbard Spencer & Bartlett was a hardware firm based in Chicago from 1855-1950. Their knives were made on contract from other large makers like ; Utica, New York Knife, Camillus, etc. They became True Value Hardware Co.
Just a guess but yours looks like maybe late 30's to 50's vintage. Nice keepsake. Good luck with it. J.O'.

Looks like a Camillus made knife. They used a type of faux plastic stag back then that looked VERY similar to yours as well as the large shields.

Yes but HSB didn't make their own knives. They contracted with a number of different knife manufacturers, Camillus being one of them.

Yes Eric, that is what I was pointing out. It seems to happen frequently.
