Powderhorn or just Toothpick ?

What is the difference between a Powderhorn and a Toothpick #12? Or is there any difference?

Seldom see or hear the term “powder horn” used for a knife pattern. As far as I know it’s the same as a large “toothpick” which seems a more commonly used term. JMO. I think Powderhorn has been used as a marketing term by some makers, most recently GEC, but it’s not a term I often hear collectors using to describe a pattern.

Gdaddy: Here is a Cattaraugus "Powder Horn #12114 , 4-5/8" Catt called these "The Powderhorn". You can see it's shape is different from a "Tickler" or Fish knife, with a larger bolster at the blade end. Probably a minor point but worth discussion. I never heard a tickler called a powder horn until very recently. ??? J.O'.
