Can someone help date an Elephant Toenail?
I don't see any dots under "Case XX USA" so I'm not sure if this was made in the 60s or the 70s. Can anyone tell from the etching?

it's post 1973, when they introduced the etch. they are there under the bolster.

The shield indicates post 1974 also doesn't it?

Case started using the elephant etch in 1974 (some 6 dot 1974 6250's will be found with the plain blade).
Likewise the "compostion" shield (no oval around CASE) was started in 1974.
If the dots are completely invisible it is likely a late 70's example (1977-1978).
In 1979 the etch was changed to the "Bradford Bonanza" etch. I do not know whether any 1979 examples were made with the elephant etch.
