Look at this knife for me. I can't figure out why it would be worth this much money.

I've seen guys do that as insurance, very commonly using 3 stacked bids. What he did was raise his maximum bid. Sometimes it will scare off some history list watchers. Sometimes it is just someone who will be gone and not near a computer. They want to get it as cheaply as possible yet still win so they put out a series of bids. He did not increase his cost, yet. That happens when someone else makes a bid. I hate the practice and I think it can wreck a sellers auction when a guy has a reputation for it. I've seen it in the Bulldog knives, I usually run it up when I see it. You run prices up on a guy a few times and he stops. DOWNSIDE: I got stuck buying a knife once.knife-nut wrote:What is curious to me is clik on the number of bids and one guy has the high bid and raises his own bid. What is going on?
