Re: wirejacks
Added this one to my WireJack family last month. 3-1/4" closed with a 3 inch hawkbill blade. Tang stamp with the arched Geo. Schrade, B'PORT CONN. and PAT. 9-21-26 date. It has a faint blade etch with CORONA. I don't see these often so was glad to come across this one.

Papa Bones, that hawkbill one always catches my eye as well. That is a great pick up.

Thank you Floyd. Yeah, those WireJacks are almost as additive as a 72 Camillus.

Re: wirejacks
This arrived very recently in a large group of pocket knives that I bought. I did NOT buy the group to obtain this particular pocket knife. However, I was quite pleased that it was in the group. It is a GEO. SCHRADE, single blade, single tang stamp, 3 1/8" closed, wire handle/frame pocket knife. It still has the red blade guard. At one time, it was probably part of a Scout utensil kit, along with a fork and a spoon. It's in VERY GOOD condition and it did NOT require much cleaning at all.
I took some pictures and here it is.

Re: wirejacks
Nice wire knives, Smitty and Skip. I recently got this one in a lot of other knives. Not a knife I especially craved, but it is cool and I am happy to add it to my armory. It is 3.25" closed.

Thanks, Skip. From your post it sounds as if we had pretty much exactly the same same experience getting a wirejack in a knife lot and liking what we found.New_Windsor_NY wrote: βThu Feb 17, 2022 1:01 amThank you, Mel.![]()

Re: wirejacks
I hate buying a group or a lot of pocket knives, just to get one particular pocket knife.
But, that's what I did in this case and so far I have found quite a few "diamonds in the rough."
It kind of justifies, in my mind at least, the money that I spent on the group or the lot.

Thanks Mel. That is a very nice Hawkbill Wire Jack you came up with.

Re: wirejacks
Just picked up this Chow kit . Not really my thing but the price was too good to pass up .
Could anyone clue me in on this kit . The knife is stamped Stainless Steel . Fork no marks . Spoon marked Kensington Silver Plate . The knife and Fork are about 3 and a 1/4 inches long. Is this a good set or mismatch?
If anyone is interested in it let me know .
Catch you later

I am just guessing here, but that spoon does not look like it is really part of the set.

Re: wirejacks
Not a fan of wirejacks in general, but I do like this one that has a Queen DFC Wharncliffe blade on what I was told is a Wostenholm wirejack frame.

Re: wirejacks
Neat looking Wharnnie Wirejack "Q". I have seen on the bay where there is a seller that has several different blade styles of Wirejack knives. I am no expert on them by no means. I just figured he was able to come up with several Wirejack frames, and assembled them. Most of his look like they have brass or bronze pivot pins. They are not a bad price.

Re: wirejacks
It has been about five months since I added a wire handle or a wire frame pocket knife to this topic or thread and also to my collection. However, yesterday afternoon, this pocket knife arrived and put an end to the drought. It is a GEO. SCHRADE, one blade (with fish scaler as the spine), two tang stamps, 4 3/4" closed, 8 1/2" open, wire handle or frame, pocket knife. The main blade front tang stamp says "STAINLESS (over) GEO. SCHRADE (over) KNIFE CO. INC. (over) B' P' T. CONN." The main blade back tang stamp says "PAT. 1-27-42 (over) B' PORT. CT." It has a NASTY opening and closing snap.
It is in EXCELLENT condition. It did NOT need any cleaning at all. I took some pictures and here it is.
