Newest Case Pick-Ups

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

One blade or two? Or does it even matter?
How are you feeling? Better, I hope.
Jerry, the one I really enjoy is an old 2 blade 1979 1 dot. It has half stops, has CV blades and is just plain comfortable to handle. I should carry it more often. The newer ones with the lock are single blade and they are not the same frame, they are a bit longer, 4 1/4" compared to 3 7/8".
For some reason the old stuff seems to keep me entertained. ::shrug::

Hey tf.
You got me confused. Are you talking about Copperheads or Copperlocks??
I never saw a locking Copperhead?? 🥴
Or am I confused?? 🤔

John, it's simple. Copperlock is a Copperhead with a locking mechanism (usually single blade).

John, I like both patterns and I suppose because of the similar names and both having 49 on their tangs I’m guilty of comparing them too closely.
I too haven’t seen a locking Copperhead.

Thanks Tom, from my experience this will be one that will appreciate over time. When Case hits on a new handle like this and it’s very popular, it will many times increase in value. I’m trying to find any other patterns in this handle material, it’s a beauty.

Thank you David but I'm a rank amateur compared to some of the collectors on AAPK.
