I didn't get back on this thread till this morning. That's a infamous chicken hawk i.e. a Cooper imho. They say in my bird book that sharp-shinned hawks are in this area they look alot alike in the pictures, but I'm going with Cooper . ::handshake::

He /she wears my feeders out, I was lucky to get that photo, happen to pull up in the back yard in my pickup to put birdfood into my containers and he was in the tree just a few feet away, It amazes me how wild animals and birds will show very little fear of you in or on a vehicle, but will get the heck out of dodge when you hit the ground walking.. ::handshake::

Thank you bighomer. I'm not very good at identifying hawks other than red-tails, kestrels, and marsh hawks.

Cool bunch of photos, Homer. I was kind of hoping to get a flurry or two this week. No luck!

There are quite a few birds in my back yard.
