Etching on knife blades

Post by justold52 »

Etching on knife blades

I have lots of knife blades that have words like SCHRADE, SUPER SHARP, and SCRIMSHAW on them. When I use a knife polish (FLITZ) on them to clean them up. The words fade and not look real nice. I tried using some clear tape on them to protect the lettering but then it shows were I taped it because it not shinny like the rest of the blade. Is their some thing I should do to stop the fading? ::huff::

Howdy justold52,

If you must use polish on your etched blades, stay away from the etched part as all polishes have some type of an abrasive in them & will dull & take away from all Lazar etched blades! ....I dry wipe all of my Lazar etched blades then use a product called Renaissance Wax I bought from I_like_knives (Glenn), check out his knife store on this site!
