Knife maker identification help

I bought a knife last night online on a hunch it might be a good one. I’m familiar with so many knives but I had never seen this style or stamping
I have not received it yet but here are 2 pictures note the stamping on the brass appears to say PAULS and then a date according to seller and my zooming in on picture
Any help will be appreciated as I would like to know something about it

Odd pattern. Handles look similar to those seen on knives made in Pakistan.

Based on carbon steel blades and the fact no one would take the time to rework a Pakistan knife and stamp their name and date on it I’m thinking it has to be better than that.

Knife looks to have factory made blades in a custom made frame. I don't think the homemade frame and blades match in quality of construction.

My post is about the handles, not the entire knife; i.e. the maker might have taken handles off a knife from Pakistan and then fitted them onto this knife. Do USA companies that supply knife handle material sell any that resemble these handles ?

Yea it was a curious buy online.Once I get the knife in my hand, hopefully I can tell or see something about it.

Your knife has a Parker like vibe about it for me! Checkout www.epragueknives.com , and you'll see plenty of models with similar handles, and many are of Japanese makers design. Hope that helps! EDIT: I just checked that link again and unfortunately most of the knives I was referring to are gone, sorry!

I am wondering if the whole knife may be custom.
Perhaps by a beginning hobbyist. The blades look nice, but they don't sit in the frame like I would expect a blade to sit. It has a very strange look when closed.
The bone handles look very much like those on many Pakistani-made knives, yet they also might be someone's crude attempt at hand jigging.
The frame is unusual, but has a strange unfinished look to me.
I just don't know. I am eagerly waiting until you have it in hand, and perhaps know for sure!

I seriously doubt that someone with the ability to make those blades would make and mark a frame like that. Factory blades and homemade frame.

I think it’s Interesting that they fixed the handle so that you can get to blade pull on the one side. I thought custom when I saw the pics. Should get this week and I will take better pics.

Meigscl, you are fairly new here but i can tell you that Wayne (btrwtr) is a very experienced knife collector as well as a knife maker. I have never seen his assessment of any knife turn out to be incorrect. Regarding your knife Wayne says "Factory blades and homemade frame.". You can rest assured that this is what your knife is.

It is a knife fabricated by an electrician who worked at Oak Ridge, TN. I have two of his knives that I bought from his brother-in-law after his passing. Both of them have custom frames and handles. One is a completely custom with a custom blade and frame/handles. Both are rather crude but functional. Not sure if Paul was his first or last name, but Paul is a last name in East Tennessee. If I can locate them, I'll post pictures.

I knew someone would have some info. Thanks! I added new pics of mine. The one I have is actually well built. Solid with excellent snap also the bone is thick and polished. My first pics were deceiving that I received on eBay but the last ones I took show a lot more detail.

Good info from 98src. As you can see the blades is his two knives look to be made in the same fashion and finish as the entire knife. The OP knife shows the stark difference in the factory made blades as opposed to the handmade blade that 98src has.

I forgot to mention that the small ( back ) front bolster on the two blade smaller knife is stamped 1978 . I have seen other PAULS knives including a couple of single blades. My dad knew him and traded knives with him.
