I am not clear as to WHAT exactly is illegal or legal in a given state, even though there is a short explanation for each state. For instance, it would seem that it is illegal to carry any kind of a knife for any reason in the state of Alaska. Huh? In Alaska, the housewives carry bowie knives on their belts to the grocery store! This thread needs some additional input, maybe?

The OP's list is clear as mud. Then there are the town laws. For example, in Boston you can only carry a knife with a 2 1/2 inch blade.
