I don't get it John, is "sportcolbs" a well known scammer or cheater here on AAPK?

If you do a search for "sportcolbs" you will find quite a few comments, mostly negative.

Instead of "Utility Wire Stripper" it reads "Utility Wife Stripper".

Thank you ~Q~, that was most informative without bashing the guy, I think Philco is correct, you need to get a job in diplomacy. So it sounds like a case of a not too knowledgeable seller who will embellish his descriptions slightly when he doesn't really know all the facts. I call that uninformed, but not dishonest. I guess it boils down to doing my research prior to buying. He sure does have a consistent supply of cool knives though! Thx again!QTCut5 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 23, 2022 1:24 am To be fair...Bill Swan, aka, "sportcolbs" is a very nice guy who works hard at selling knives. I believe he does everything himself...a real one-man operation, which, considering the number of knives he sells, is pretty impressive. However, let's just say that he's been known to make some mistakes every now and then (this thread being a case in point), but I do not think he's intentionally dishonest or shady based on my numerous dealings with him over many years. He sells a large variety of all sorts of knives, almost always at no reserve auction, and he doesn't always show or list all the "issues" on every knife. Also, his descriptions can sometimes be...how shall I put it...a bit too brief and repetitive (meaning he uses the same description for more than one knife listing but changes certain key words as needed...although not always successfully). I still buy from him, but you've got to be very careful and make sure you know exactly what you're bidding on with his items. At least he's never given me any grief or blocked me from bidding on his listings even though I've had to return a few knives that were incorrectly or not properly shown/described.

Thanks for the info Mel,Dinadan wrote: ↑Sun Jan 23, 2022 1:27 amIf you do a search for "sportcolbs" you will find quite a few comments, mostly negative.
However, I have bought from him more than once and been perfectly happy with my purchases. I think you just need to do your own research, because he probably won't.

Yah thanks Tom,
