This is one of several knives I recently inherited. I have no idea about time period, maker, origin, etc. I can't find any markings on it. Sheath appears to be wrapped in some sort of twine with primitive decoration. See pics below.
Any info or insight would be much appreciated.
Can anyone help me identify this...

From the way the blade is fullered it looks like it could be made from a cut down sword.
If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.
