I have a number of knives needing repair, and decided that I would get those repaired under warranty before I bought anymore this year.

I'd messed up this Cutco 1886 sharpening it a long time ago, and it's now completely blunt. I decided to try their lifetime sharpening service. So, it's off to Olean. I've heard hit or miss about their warranty service (unlike Buck or Victorinox--the gold standard for knife warranty--as they will fully restore almost junk knives for just a nominal fee), and it's why I procrastinated almost two years.

They say 2-4 weeks. Given the USPS (I had packages recently from both Utah and Missouri take almost two weeks), it will be at least a month. I hope the company logo on it doesn't affect the warranty in any way.

Nice! Love the pearl!

I'm thinking certain Utica and early Schrade Muskrats are single-spring as well; and my budget looks at those a bit better.

The classic Remington R4593 has a nice fat single spring. Simple and perfect. ::nod::

I can't keep quiet about this one. I passed on these when they were released and they sold out the same day. It's been my grail knife ever since. As a relatively new Buck collector, there is no other Buck knife that I want more than this one.

I managed to snag one today and I'm pretty excited about it.

January 2020 Buck of the Month. S35VN Drop Point blade. Nickel Silver frame. Scalloped Cocobolo wood handles. 200 made.

I'll post my own pics when it gets here.

Awesome, Pete and Rick. ::tu:: ::tu::

I bud in NY State sent me this picture of knives in an antique shop that he saw recently. I immediately zoomed in on the 10th Mountain Division Ulster, told him it was easily worth $100 depending on condition, he said he would check out the price when visiting again. This past Saturday he texted me he picked up the knife and was mailing it to me. I would love to pick though the other knives in this case just to see what's really there.

Hoping the post office doesn't screw this up. ::pray::
