toomanyknives wrote: Thu Jan 13, 2022 6:37 pm Just received this 1978 Case 6383. I collect knives from 1978 as it was the year I graduated High School, and had really gotten into collecting.
This one is just like I like them, great snap on all blades, no wobble at all, no cracks, full blades, but some wear and patina. I cleaned it up just
a bit, and gave it a good oiling. I love a good "Case Queen" (pun intended) as much as the next guy, but then I never carry them, so this one is
just right. In the pocket it goes! And, I actually got what I think was a pretty good deal considering how much these have gone up. Another bonus
is that it's bone, as a lot of the knives in '78 were delrin.

Nice Case Kerry! ::tu:: You are very specific with your collecting methods and as a result you wind up with exactly the models you like the most, and not a bunch of "accumulated" models. Wish I was like that, but as you know, my collection is a potpourri of all sorts of models, not that I'm complaining, but a bit more selective on my part would have been nice! Oh well, ya gotta work with what ya got! 8)
I purged a bunch of random knives about 10 years ago, Marco. I made a conscience effort to focus my collecting, so you're right. I still have a few "just because" knives. You know, "just because" I can! Ha!
LOL! ::rotflol:: LOL! I know very well about "just because" knives Kerry, I have an entire collection full of them! 8)

More information about this case xx 1992 51405L ss lockback India stag pocket knife. I’m try to learn more about it. I’ve read online the pattern is discontinued and making the knife rare paid 50$. Good deal or bad deal?
Very cool and pretty rare knife, X. I Have a bone and maple handle version of it. You don't see many of the Stag at all. My bone has a clip blade and my maple version is like yours with the drop point blade. You did great on the price. Hard to find any stag Case for under $100.00. Great score.

Yes sir, very pleased. Thanks! ::tu::
I read that you may be driving through NM interested in a knife show... well this state is feeling the blues from all the lockdowns and vax mandates. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. A show was rescheduled this past November only to be cancelled once again, for 'safety'.
Take care. ::handshake::

Today, the first of two knives I received is this GEC Northfield Cokebottle. 4" clothed with Gabon Ebony covers. I only have a few GECs
and they all reach a very high standard of quality. But when I see that quality on a large frame pattern the knife becomes quietly spectacular. In hand, this knife is a thing of beauty. I am also pleased that Gary [Kennedy Knives] was able to get it to me so quickly ahead of a possible snowstorm.

The second knife today is this Buck 5" Coke Bottle. If anyone can identify the gorgeous striped wood covers, I'd be grateful. Buck did an outstanding job on this 1983 Collectors Club knife. Every aspect conveys quality: the smooth transitions, half stops, an extra tight runup just like that of the GEC, very tasteful scrollwork on the blade. And kudos to gunman 724 for the storm beating fast delivery.

Really nice Gary, pretty double pull blade. Looks like a old Maher and Grosh blade.
