If you can think of something to talk about that is not related to knives, discuss it here.

I haven’t posted here in quite awhile. About 2 months ago someone dumped two cats on us, literally, people drive an unwanted animal out in the country and let it go to fend for itself. I didn’t know there were two of these. Our Golden Scout chased one off the porch and I thought we were done with that cat but she was still acting frantic and I didn’t know she had the other one cornered. Enter the other two dogs and that was enough to get Scout in motion to grab the kitten she had cornered and shake it. I came to it’s rescue and picked it up and it bit me hard on my left thumb. Pierced the thumbnail and sunk it’s fangs clear into my thumb as far as they would go. Had to have an antibiotic for 10 days to avoid infection. The kitten died in the night from the shaking. But we did manage to save the other one from the dogs. Now he owns the dogs.
His name is Biff. For some reason this kitten loves me and follows me around the house and sleeps on my lap every chance he gets. He is cracking us up with his antics. I had forgotten how much fun a kitten is to have around.
Here are some pictures of his progression and how he now “owns” everything in the house.

Thanks Sam, Boji and John. He does have our number. I like the picture of our 3 dogs and Biff tagging along for treat time. That’s the only way you can get 4 animals to look up at you at once is to offer them treats. Biff thinks he is just one of the dogs. His interactions with them is comical. He chases after their tails and tries to ride these dogs but they aren’t allowing that. Everything is a game to a kitten.

Great looking kitten Matk! ::tu:: And Biff seems to be a very fitting name. :D

I had a dream last night that I found two puppies & an an aquarium fish. One puppy was a Poddle. The other one was a mix and the fish was thorn-eyed shmerle. ::dang:: Must be going a little ::tease:: crazy.

I cleaned my little Aquarium yesterday and my thorn-eyed shmerle came out of hiding & swam around for a few min. Normally you hardly ever see them. So I guess that's why I had that dream last night.
I wouldn't mind finding two puppies at all. ::super_happy::

Mark, you have an exceptionally good looking kitty there. [Your bite thru the thumbnail must have been terrifically painful. I grimaced just thinking about it.]

Tom, I had never heard of such a fish and can find no information on a creature with this name....none. Is this a TPK joke? If so, congratulations, you got me. What a dream!
I hope thorn-eyed Shmerles don't replace Ali MacGraw in my dreams! ::rotflol::

Hello Ike,

Sorry, ::hmm:: I'm still not sure how that translation mix up came about. ::shrug::
Anyways, I meant the Kuhli loach. A very old member of the common aquarium fish. If you have ever walked through a pet store that sells aquarium fish then you have probably seen one before. ::nod:: The one I have is pretty old for a fish. Probably close to ten years old. ::nod:: But they are more of the night active type of fish. I don't get to see him too often. Maybe 6-10 times a year. He always hides in the plants & sleeps all day. ::tired::

Umm, did you say Ali McGraw? ::uc:: Whatever floats your boat Ike.

Miss Joy and I have both been sittin' in the office paying our monthly bills this morning. We were accompanied by our pups, this one showed no interest in helping:
"Y'all hurry up, I want to go outside!"
"Y'all hurry up, I want to go outside!"
" On second thought, I'll just lay here."

Hey Mark! Your little buddy Biff is cool as cool can be! I remember you telling me about being bit on the thumbnail and I cringed then, and now to read it again brings back that feeling. When my cat Elvis died at the beginning of March I was absolutely positive I would have no more pets, but in early December my neighbour showed up at my door with a 2 year old cat that was on it's way to being euthanized and asked if I wanted her. Well, one look at this little queen and my heart melted! I don't have any pictures yet, but she has almost identical coloring and markings as Biff, the only real difference being, Biff has stripes all over and my Baby only has five stripes/rings at the end of her tail, but other than that the 2 cats could easily pass for brother and sister. She acts the same as Biff by following me wherever I go, and plops herself down in my lap whenever her tiny heart desires. I can't recall her exact breed, but my neighbour believes she has Chinese lineage in her, she's 2 years old, the size of a kitten, and won't get any bigger. As soon as I can figure out how to get some pictures I'll post them! Bless your heart for saving Biff initially my friend, and then giving him a good home to live in with great parents! 8)

Thanks Mark. He is a real blessing. My son has him for now. He is there on a trial basis and is going to keep him at least one more week. Biff is disturbing his sleep and getting into plants, that might or might not be poisonous, and taking more time every day than he expected, my son works from home a lot on his computer. So I might get my little buddy back here soon, we shall see.
Nice to know that you rescued a cat before it was put down. All of our animals are rescued. We do all we can to help animals, it’s long commitment but it’s worth it.

Thank you Mark. From what you're describing it sounds like you'll definitely be getting Biff back. I remember Elvis as a kitten and he got into anything he possibly could. I even had to install those plugs into the wall sockets cuz he kept trying to get his nails in the holes, and although it was unlikely he would make contact with the electricity I couldn't take the chance. I had to fold up the shower curtains cuz he loved to claw at and shred them. Lots of other stuff too that did occupy my time at times, but of course as he grew older he settled down somewhat, but if he's disturbing your son's work now it will only get worse unless he takes all the household precautions which take time. If I'm not mistaken there is a spray you can buy to spray on your plants so they repel pets from touching them but I don't recall the name of the stuff. When Angie my neighbour brought my Baby over to ask if I wanted her, she was virtually in her carrier in the elevator on the way to the Vet to be put down. Angie said it was no coincidence that she happened to be in the elevator exactly at that time and saw the cat and asked where they were going and was told to the Vet to be euthanized, but rather it was Devine intervention and I believe that 100%. The last thing I was thinking about was getting another pet, but when it happens like the way it did I certainly can't argue that it wasn't meant to be. Elvis was the very first pet I'd ever had on my own, and I didn't realize just how attached we become to our pets, but now that I know I can better prepare myself for unseen events, like them passing on. I'm sure happy to have this little sweetheart with me for however long she is. I can hardly wait until I can post some pictures, you won't believe how much our 2 cats look-a-like! 8)
