Oniclub wrote: Wed Jan 05, 2022 12:28 pm Good afternoon, new user from the Uk. Picked up a Jonathan Crookes 9 inch Bowie clipped back blade With Nickel and wood leather wrapped sheath. Hand guard looks to be bone and pommel shows a half horse half alligator. With blade etching “America land of the free home of the brave” any info would be helpful know they made knives until 1990. Hope you all enjoy it, it’s a beauty.
Nice bowie Oni! ::tu:: I'm partial to BIG knives, and that's a BIG knife! ::nod:: Those English folks sure know how to build a nice knife! Also, ::welcome:: to AAPK! ::handshake:: 8)

Montanaman, I don't recall ever using the term awesome to describe a knife, but I will do so now. Mr. Seward's knife is awesome. I think it is a remarkable piece of work.

You guys are making me wish I lived where I could carry a fixed blade and not get weird looks from people.
Some very beautiful knives!

Thanks, Ben is a great knife maker and a gentlemen. I have had the pleasure of knowing him and his wife for years. Ben's dad, David, is a top tier sheath maker.

You guys are on a roll, haven’t seen a single knife I wouldn’t want to own! OH

::paranoid:: "Just when you thought it was safe to go outside!" TPK got interested in fixed blades! ::doh::
LOL! :lol:

Picked up my first fixed blade knife. Well actually it's my second one because our friend Georgi sent me a sweet custom fixed blade for Christmas in 2019. I'll take some pictures of that one & post them tomarrow. I really like it and enjoy seeing & holding it but it's too long for me to carry here in Germany. I guess that was the knife that planted the seed so to speak.

Anyways, I decided I needed a smaller one to carry when I go for walks with my dogs. ::nod:: It has an overall length of 7 1/8" and a blade lenght of 3 3/8". Handles are camel bone & wood. Fit & Finish are really very nice. Can't wait till the snow melts so I can take it out for a walk. ::nod::

Thanks for looking friends! ::handshake::
