Re: Knife Photography
You got it, unbelievable cold, it was 14 degrees out, and it RARELY gets below freezing. If it does, it even more RARELY gets below 20. This is insane. Now I remember why I don't live in the arctic or Alaska. Toooooooo cooooooooooooold.
Thanks Quick, about 10 minutes out there in the wind and me and the kids were dying. Insane cold. And it's wet cold, not dry cold, even worse.Quick Steel wrote: ↑Thu Dec 30, 2021 4:02 am I like the atmosphere or mood of those photos, Iman; provided by the winter light.

Re: Knife Photography
Thanks Steve, thanks Ike. Appreciate it of course, but I owe it all to the GREAT people at GREAT Eastern Cutlery Co. who made it possible and pleasing and a joy to own. Can't thank them enough for making my favorite knives, the most beautiful of my pile, the most joyous to own and use and the ones that make it easy to make great photos IMHO. God bless Bill Howard and all the GEC employees and the company I love the most of all in the knife world.

Nice tree shot, and some wild looking scales. I like it. Keep them coming.

I just love this Norvelle-Shapleigh - consider myself very lucky to have found a knife over 100 years old in this condition.

Thanks, guys! As for being real, honestly, I don’t know. If I were betting on it, I’d probably guess no.Quick Steel wrote: ↑Wed Jan 05, 2022 8:25 am You have an amazing acquisition tvic. Any chance the covers are real tortise shell?

Re: Knife Photography
Stunning knife. Wow, can't look away. So pretty. Nice straw shot too, very barnyard looking and cool. Great lighting on that one too, really brings out the scale colors. What a cool knife and photo.

I’m a fan of the colorful old celluloid handles. Thought this 80+ year old little Syracuse pen knife was a good example.

Re: Knife Photography
The celluloid is beautiful, no doubt and I would never argue it. You have some sweeties. I just fear that line of corrosion on top of the blade spine where it doesn't all fit into the blade well/channel. The offgassing scares me and so does what it will do to my other knives. But love seeing them and hope it doesn't deteriorate forever.
