ONly two are custom made in the true sense of that word, i.e. I specified to the maker what I wanted. Others are hand made but not to my specifications. In the top photo the bottom two knives were made by Camillus and receiving the OVB designation. {Our Very Best] They were designed by Jerry Fisk.

This Mark II is one of a 100 piece edition produced in 2002 for AG Russell; each is serial numbered. The Gerber Mark II saw a lot of military service.
This version features the famous "cats tongue" grip which is powdered coated stainless steel in black and gray. The blade is 154CM stainless.
The classic leather sheath has been reproduced.

That's a very nice variation of the Mark II's Garry! ::tu:: I've been admiring those knives for awhile, but I like the non-serrated model like yours, as opposed to the serrated one, and their high price has also kept me at bay from pulling the trigger. A big feature to me is the "cat's tongue" handle, it really makes you feel like you have a solid grip on the knife! Thx for showing us yours! 8)

I'm not a big fixed blade collector, but I got this one as a part of an Old Timer Heritage Series.
It's the 169OTH 5 in. D2 Stainless Steel blade with a full tang. 5.25 in. wood handle. It comes
with a custom leather sheath. The knife weighs in at 10.12 ounces. Beautiful knife.

David, I agree that is a beautiful knife.

Marco, Don't know if you are aware of this. Probably you are. Gerber produced the Mk II for a short while with the blade at a 5 degree
cant. So if you held the knife straight out in front of you you would see the blade was tilted 5 degrees. Somehow this was supposed to make for a better thrust. It was not a big success; Gerber dropped it fairly quickly. That is my understanding.

Thanks for the additional info Garry, I was aware of that. I personally didn't care for the cant since IMHO it made the blade appear bent, but it's always been the serrations that were the deal-breaker for me. They are very cool daggers that are steeped in history. 8)

Yep, me too Garry! You usually see that knife with the black ABS/Delrin/Plastic handles, and the beautiful brown wood handle on your model give the knife a very special appearance! Thx for posting it! ::handshake:: 8)
