Vintage Chinese Pocket Knife?

This arrived very recently in a group of pocket knives that I bought. This particular pocket knife was NOT the target of my purchase. It is, what I believe to be, a pocket knife of Chinese origin. It is a single blade, 2 5/16" closed (not including the loop), no tang stamp(s), pocket knife. There is, what I think is, Chinese writing or figures on the main scale or handle. If it is any other language than Chinese, I apologize, there was no insult intended. The other scale or handle has some sort of logo(?). The blade has an etch, hard to see in the picture, that says STAINLESS KNIFE. It needed very little cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.

I'm going to try and contact Dan, a.k.a. Old Folder and see if his wife can translate what the knife says.

Seems as if you have an "Advertising Pen Knife" from the "Ocean Transportation Insurance Co., Ltd."
Most likely a employee or customer gift?
Just out of curiosity, I looked up the Co. name on the internet and could find no current Co. listing. Perhaps they are out of business, merged or changed their name? Or my research is not thorough enough?

Anna advised me that "Ltd." at the end of the writing of your knife is a standard abbreviation for "limited," a form of corporate structure available in countries including the U.K., Ireland, and Canada. The term appears as a suffix that follows the company name, indicating that it is a private limited company. In a limited company, shareholders' liability is limited to the capital they originally invested. If such a company becomes insolvent, the shareholders' personal assets remain protected.

Before today I always thought that "Ltd" was just a British patent name use only. (My wife corrected me, I learned somthing.) In Anna's past work with the U.S. and Chinese Embassies in the "Translation Dept's" she came accross "Ltd" many times.

Not sure what the "Circle Emblem" is on the pile side. Perhaps a Company Logo? It has no Chinese language connection.

Possibly (probably) the use of Ltd. was common for companies located in Hong Kong, Singapore, or other such places having a significant Chinese population but also once under British rule.
