Show off your fixed blades!

Gary, You have loads and loads of quality there. Fine collection. I don't recall seeing that particular pattern of CR's fixed blades. I do remember when I bought my CR fixed blade, I was thinking that it was a bit expensive at about $80s. Today of course they are worth many hundreds.
Congratulations on a superb collection.

Garry the CR fixed blade is called a Skinner. Some of the first ones made in South Africa are in the Thousands

Gary, Is there a way to determine the South African ones. My recollection is that he had not yet settled in the U.S. But probably, as I think of it more, he probably had just not yet settled in Idaho.

CRKT MInimalist Bowie. Not a bad knife for $25. SMKW has a version in D2 that is the exact same price Lowe's asks for the base model.

Yeah, it's made in China, and right now, I think it's the only Chinese-made knife I still regularly use. Alan Folts originally produced the Minimalist himself before selling the design to CRKT. The asking price was quite reasonable for a small full-custom fixed blade--$150. The steel was also CPM-154. I looked into getting one, but it seems that once the CRKT model took off, he discontinued his own versions.

I carry it right side, for left-hand cross-draw. Has to be the quickest knife to deploy that I own carried this way.

Newly arrived Imperial with a plastic "gunstock" handle. Blade is etched Kit Carson. No sheath for it yet.

I paid to much for this one. I figured it was probably a $25 knife but accidentally bid $2500!
Other bidders drove the price up to $47 and with shipping I ended up paying $55.

That price isn't so bad Ken. Your knife looks tough and like it will last forever. I guess we sometimes have to pay a little more to wind up with a quality knife, jus' like yours!

This Pukka was made in 1999 by Jim Burrichter. Blade is stainless. Handle is a wooden burl and axis antler.P1040413 (2).JPG

Very nice Cody! I own a few CRKT models, and I have no complaints with any of them! They are mostly quality good looking knives at more than reasonable prices! Enjoy your new one!

Killer knife Quick, of course I love any knife with any ivory on it anyway, and Walrus is one of my favorites. Sweet knife.

I met Thomas Lofgren about 20 years ago when I acquired this knife at a knife show in Los Angeles. His mastery was quickly recognized and he has enjoyed a tremendous influence in Sweden. Other examples of his work can be seen at Arizona Custom knives.

My Puukka has a Damascus blade. The handle is composed of Fossilized Ivory, Malachite, and Stabilized Birch.

LOL! I know the feeling well Garry! Telling myself "no", and then I'll have another look and justify things with "I'm not getting any younger", "You only live once", "Why not treat myself?", etc. until I grimace, bite the bullet, and finally pull the trigger! What a wonderful addiction we all share!

I don't believe I have shown this one for a while. The WWII M3 Fighting Knife which was issued to groups such as the Rangers and Paratroops.
This particular replica was made by Boker and released thru AG Russell.
