Case Tested Earlier? Comments welcome and appreciated!

I picked this up in my quest to find knife glory! I just don’t know much about it! I believe it’s from around 1915. I also know thanks to a friend of mine it is a lid or top on a counter display/ storage unit. Any and all information is greatly appreciated like Rarity?, ideas on value? And I know that will be subjective but I can’t really do an eBay search for completed sold listings if this is as rare as I believe. So give me an idea what you think it’s worth or what it would be worth to you if you had it. I don’t get to do much search for knife treasures these days because of my health so picking this up along with 26 knives to add to my accumulation makes me happy . Oh I know it’s been a while since I have posted (sorry) and a great BIG HOWDY to all my knife loving brothers and sisters out there! Thank you Father for everyone reading this and my health and ability to post it ……. Now come on bring on those comments.

Wow, nice trove of Case knives that you picked up there! I don't know much about the box, but it looks older than dirt. If you can figure out when Case last had salesmen wearing out shoe leather to sell knives, that might help with an approximate minimum age. Glad to hear that you are feeling better!

Glad to see your back in the saddle again. Great looking Case knives in the rolls but the box is way out of my league. Is the medallion attached to the box and what about the dark circle on the end? The material inside the box looks to have a permanent crease from something, a single knife storage box? Looks to be very old just as herbva suggested.

I’ve had a few of these plush box tops. They are very hard to find. The crease is a divider so the top holds two knives. Very nice pick up. They were also made for single knives without the divider.

Nice find, I did some rough measuring and it looks like about 4 inches wide and about 5 or 6 inches long. and appears to hold 2 knives. I believe your 1915 date to right on. Terry

Some were designed to tilt up a bit and were pinned to the box so the top could toggle open to the inventory below. Here are a few examples, one with the NYK box in the toggled open position.
