Q, This clever little knife is the creation of Paul Chen, founder of Hanwei which became famous for its classical swords. The thumb stud, besides being used to open the blade also releases the lock when the stud is pushed forward. The knife operates very smoothly with razor-sharp blades
which I have never needed to sharpen. Paul retired some years ago. His son Ron set up his own foundry and makes custom swords.

You could pressure wash G-10 probably, John, or run it through the dishwasher. Sturdy yet light weight.
