Thanks Tim.

I was a bit under the weather today so the Padooka Pooch had to make do with just some yard time. Here's one from the archive to keep the show rolling...

Thanks Iman. Beautiful pic of great looking knives. Is that bottom handle Bocote or Goncalo Alves?

Here's one from our afternoon walk...

This is an epic thread! It's hard to compliment every one on every picture. You all have great imagination and a keen eye for how to compliment your knife with scenery or background. And even the plainer pictures are carried by the knife or knives that are pictured. This may sound like I'm sucking up, but this and Knives in the Wild are two of the very first threads I visit to see who posted what.

Great shot there Squach, nice walking route. Beautiful. The wood is supposed to be Cocobolo. Don't know what Goncalo Alves is, I presume a wood also? Never heard of that one, which isn't unusual around here. Thanks.

Thanks MissouriGuerrilla, appreciate it. I was typing when you posted or I could have quoted you too, but you get the idea. Thanks again, glad you like.

Thanks Iman! Goncalo Alves is very similar in appearance to Bocote and Cocobolo. It seems to be more popular for pistol grips but can be found on knife handles as well.

tvic, do you know what material is used for the covers of your handsome knife? I know Case has been using Corelon on some knives.

Hmmmmmmm, never heard of it but it's pretty wood with great grain. I'll look for that kind, I make wodden whistles and such and that kind of stuff would be pretty if it's semi-hard. Needs to be hard enough it doesn't ding up at the drop of a hat or the whistle. Thanks for the tip, I'll look it up.
