The details of the knife show that care and attention were used during its manufacture. The angled bolsters nicely set off the cocobolo wood. The blades are perfectly centered with not the slightest blade rub and all transitions are smoothly joined.

Those are good looking knives ~Q~ and I like that pattern, but I just can't get use to a Zippo shield yet. At some point I will most likely buy one just to have it in my collection.

Yesterday arrived this 3 1/2 " Henckels/Boker Congress with Red jigged bone. The jigging is very precise, i.e. very neat. The run-ups are standard, but the finish and overall construction are outstanding. When Henckels stipulated to Boker that they wanted a better grade of materials and construction, they got what they asked for.

I picked up a couple of Rough Riders this week. The oo9 sway back and a RR 1958 working man's stockman. The sway back is a nice knife and came sharp enough to shave with right out of the box. I think that the EO notch could be deeper to make it easier to use. But I find that more I open it the easier it gets! I also think that the swage on the pile side could be shorter and nail nick moved forward some as well and I think it should have been a strait nick. Other than that I love the knife! I may deepen the EO notch to make it easier to use.

The 1958 was only 15.00 bucks so I thought why not. I just started back to work as a substitute custodian at a local school district after 6 years of retirement. I have dropped my Leek twice already and was lucky enough to find it both times. So if I lose this one no big deal. I guess its a stockman due the blades being used although its a whittler pattern... The main blade locks but you need strong thumbs to unlock that puppy! I'll give a try though and see how it does.

Randy, Q, Jerry - all very nice! It took me awhile, but I finally became a fan of the Rough Riders. They’re really a lot better knife than you’d think for the price.
