Those little suckers wouldn't let me get within 25 yards! Great picture, joeradza. Maybe I should have showered??? ::shrug:: ::super_happy::

They high-tailed it after Saturday.

That is a wonderful picture of a Snowy Egret! He is a bit different than the Cattle Egret. The Snowy had a dark beak as your picture shows along with the yellow feet, the Cattle Egret show up with a shorter yellow beak.
Again joeradza, that is a quality picture! ::tu::

Thanks for the info. There's a nesting pair of ospreys near the house but the only pics I get of them are telephoto shots when they're in the nest. Lots of opportunities on the island.

Sanibel is famous for its bird life. That area provided my mother with some of her happiest days.

If you are talking about the fact that my tree appears to be dying, that's okay, I was aware of that. :?

There hasn't been much activity around my house, other than Nuthatches and Chickadees. Then again, I haven't started feeding.

Seem to be more Hawks around, than in past years.

Walking along the trail today towards my 3.5 mile goal, then turn around.....I hear a high pitched squawk/call....and immediatley
begin lookin for an Osprey. I am under the power lines at this point. In a second I see this large bird take flight from near the
water and immediately notice it's what head and partial white tail feathers....and know I'm looking at a bald eagle!!! ::ds::

I watch ti fly into some heavy pines and lose sight of it. A little down the trail and I see him way up in the sky. I know my photo does
nothing to substantiate my story....but it was indeed an eagle!!
