Schrade Cutlery Company was founded in 1904 by George Schrade, and his brothers Jacob and William Schrade. In 1946 Imperial Knife Associated Companies, (IKAC; an association of Ulster Knife Co and Imperial Knife Co) purchased controlling interest in Schrade Cut Co and changed the name to Schrade Walden Cutlery. In 1973 the name was changed to Schrade Cutlery. In 2004 Schrade closed due to bankruptcy.

This forum is dedicated to the knives that are the legacy of this company. This forum is not the place to discuss the replica knives currently being imported using the Schrade name.

Yep, I have seen those.
I recon the chinese must have bought all the names and such that went with the Schrade knives. BUT, I am still wondering how they got the permission to put "Walden" on their junk.

I sure do feel sorry for anyone that buys a china Old Timer. Those things are on ebay worse than the plague.

I have also seen some listed as "antique" and "vintage"... just because they are tarnished or have a heavily sharpened blade.

PURE CRAP!

Fresh from the junk pile this morning. Unfinished end-of-days reject knife with no shield, no bag, box, papers, nothing. It is a $20 edc with hideous bone.

I am hot for this worn out GI pilot knife and wrong sheath. What really appeals to me, though, is the "wrapped wood" handle.

If you check out this other item he has for sale, the puzzle begins to crack. He may have drank all those bottles of wine before he listed the knife and the used corks.
