Seeing a lot of Keen Kutter traction lately, so this week I'm going with Keen Kutters.

First up is a 869 Kattle Knife probably made by Schrade. Someone cleaned it up nicely, stamps on all 3 blades and the logo shield. Sweet peach seed jigged bone.

LOVE those cigar frame cattle / stockman rigs! ::tu:: ::nod::

I was onboard Medea yesterday. This trio are my usual “shipmates”. Case riggers knife in composite and stainless, GEC 86 in micarta, and Buck 293. Sorry for the poor light. The engine room isn’t the best place to take photos.

Thank you sir. I've noticed you're posting some pretty fine shots yourself. A large stable of knives with good color really does help.

Nice 'uns Quick Steel. I've been fondling a Colonel Coon stag stockman myself the last few days. I really like it. With a little luck I might get a good shot of it to post.

Congrats on that 86 Barlow. Beautiful. First one I've seen in green canvas. Looks great. Love this run of 86 Barlows, every one I have seen is sweet. Nice Pal too. Beautiful old bones.

Well, here's the Colonel Coon I was telling Quick Steel about. It was made by Queen, based on their #49 Large Stockman, but with Colonel Coon etching, stamp & shield. I wish Queen had been as attentive to the fit & finish on their own brand as they were on this one.

Very nice Geo.

When a company goes private label it can usually contract for specifications. For example, if I am Kroger and instead of carrying Libby green beans I want the green beans to carry the Kroger label I will tell Libby I want higher, lower, or the same level of quality. In other words, you generally get what you are willing to pay for.
