That Cold Steel looks a lot like a Cold Steel Clip Mate that I owned in the late 1980's. Is yours a Clip Mate also, by any chance?Quick Steel wrote: ↑Sat Oct 30, 2021 12:31 pm The bottom knife is a rare Cold Steel folding lockback Tanto.

I have an RB43 joining me on today's coffee walk. Iron bolsters and liners, half-stops and some decent blades. Remington made several of these Barlows in different blade configurations, I have found 3 so far.
Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!

Rick T, there is nothing indicating Clip Mate on the knife. Nor is there any pocket clip. I think it was made in the 80s. But other than that I have no way to connect it with your knife.

OK, thank you.Quick Steel wrote: ↑Sat Oct 30, 2021 2:00 pm Rick T, there is nothing indicating Clip Mate on the knife. Nor is there any pocket clip. I think it was made in the 80s. But other than that I have no way to connect it with your knife.
I believe yours is in fact one of the Clip Mate models. The link below is the closest thing I could find. The knives in the link are key chain Clip Mates but they had 3 or 4 different sizes as I remember it. None of them had pocket clips and I'm not sure how they came up with the name.

I remember that the handle on mine was a very grippy rubber type material. Soft but durable.

Rick, you are correct. Seeing your photos it is clear that my CS is a Clip Mate: San Mai steel, rubbery grip....it all adds up. Thanks for your informative input.

My desk knife this Sunday is by Shuho Eguchi. I believe Madmarco would call this a comfort knife.
Might as well stay with the art theme for my pocket carry.

I normally show 4 of the 7 knives that I am carrying on this thread.Yes, 7.

The three that I don't often show are my standard carries. One SAK, one RR key chain knife, plus my NT Cutter work knife.![]()
Anyways, I have started downsizing. Add in a couple of pens & markers plus my Zippo & there is just way too much stuff in my pockets.(Wanted to lose some weight.)

So as of last week, I am carrying (as always) my three standard carries that I won't post very often. Plus "only" 2 EDC's that I will rotate in and out of my EDC collection & post pictures of on this thread. This past week I carried my Purina & one of my Kissing Crane knives. I really enjoy having these two around!![]()
Nice group! I usually carry a lot of knives and tools as well. Multitool pliers ruin nuts and bolts, and don't open wide enough, so I often have a four-inch adjustable wrench and Knipex 125mm Cobra pliers on me too as well as a bit driver and an assortment (Leatherman flat bits and adapter to fit on the square Phillips of several models) of screwdriver bits as well. That gets heavy, and can't really be carried outside of jeans, cargo pants, or work pants. I got out an old school backpack I had (I hate the looks of tactical packs, they're heavy, the excessive number of straps hang or get caught on everything, and they're over $100 on sale for good ones) and went to the dollar store and bought a shaving kit bag and some makeup bags to make a cheap EDC organizer for my tools, eyeglass cleaning stuff, small first aid kit, chargers, headphones, and power bank. The tools were usually on me, and the other stuff usually in the car. I find I'm losing stuff less often, and I'm more comfortable due to less stuff on me.
I've moved to just a folder, a Fisher Cap-O-Matic pen, and small SAK or MT on me, and then the rest in the pack.
