That one left a crater! Boom ::tu:: Good for Q and Smitty thats a fine knife. It definitely looks like a relative of the 72 with that blade arrangement! ::nod::

Smitty, I'm glad you like it even though it's not a 72 or (even a 72 clone).
One thing Papa Bones failed to mention was the amount of pocket lint inside the blade well...at least I think it was lint...could just as easily have been mold ::undecided::. Whatever it was, it looked deep enough to grow root vegetables in . I imagine removing that built up crud probably reduced the weight of the knife by at least half .

Curse you, Karma! You caught me unawares and struck me once again with a blindsided, haymaker sucker punch. Here I was thinking I'd be the one handing out all the Halloween treats this year, but apparently Karma had a trick up its sleeve reserved just for me (which, as it turned out, was actually quite a treat!) You see, friends, it just so happened that the very day Smitty got my BOMB, I was BOMBED myself by a mysterious "stealth" bomber who did not identify himself. Although, I have a pretty good idea who it was, not because I'm such a great sleuth, but because the knife I received was only known about by two people besides myself, one of whom was my wife (and there's no possible way on God's green earth it came from her), and the other is "The Great Mini-T Enabler" and "Most Generous Bombardier" himself (I'm sure most of you will know the individual to whom I refer ::nod:: ).

The knife I was BOMBED with is this extremely cool, mint condition Smith & Wesson, Jigged Gray-Green Bone Mini Trapper made in Seki, Japan, with AUS-6; a somewhat rare and extremely well-made knife. Of all the Smith & Wesson branded knives I have owned (or still own), this is the first and only Seki-made model I have ever seen. And, for anyone familiar with Seki-made knives, you will undoubtedly appreciate the indisputable quality of cutlery that comes out of that particular region of the World. ::tu:: ::tu:: ::tu::

Many thanks, semi-anonymous BOMBER. As for Karma...consider yourself forewarned, The Monkey has a few little tricks up his sleeves as well. ::sneaky:: ::suspense::

The lint was no problem. Washed it out and oiled everything last night. I really appreciate it "Q" Your correct, it's not a 72, but that design and blade compliment I've always jokingly called the 72's second cousin.

As for the bomb you received, Congrats man. It is a beautiful Mini-T. Always liked the design of the S&W logo and the shield on the knives always looked great. The color on the handles looks awesome and really compliments the Mini-T pattern. Congrats "Q" and kudos to the Stealth Bomber. ::tu:: ::tu::

A few years back I was able to help out one of my favorite guys and my go to rehandler Randy Everhart with a problem he had. Recently we squared that deal and I shipped all his 72's back to him. I got this in the mail today. A testament to the kind of guys that inhabit this website. Thanks Randy! :D

I just took a direct hit from my good friend John (1967redrider). The package had a very nice hand βœ‹ written letter and as I can figure out from the letter, there must be a hand fΓΌll of knives in it. ::woot::

I have decided to not look at the knives inside of the package untill Christmas. ::nod::
However..., since today was my 49th Birthday, I had my girls pull out one of the knives from inside the package & wrap it for me for my Birthday. ::super_happy:: I'm so good to me! ::nod:: ::super_happy::

The knife they picked was a Beautiful Yellow Case Peanut with solid half stops which I really like! ::tu:: ::groove:: What a wonderful Birthday Gift! ::ds::

Thanks Buddy! ::handshake:: You really gave it "The Ol' College Try"! ::nod:: I am totally stoked about my newest Case addition that went directly into my pocket & I'm looking forward to Christmas so that I can get my hands & eyes on the rest of them. ::groove:: ::ds::

Here are a few pictures of my newest Case addition. ::super_happy:: A few more pictures of it later in the Case thread. Thanks again John & thanks for looking friends! ::handshake:: :D

I purchased a pocket knife from Jason, a.k.a. jxr1197.
He included the pocket knife pictured below. ::tu:: ::tu::
A special THANK YOU goes out to Jason for the extra goodie!!
::handshake::
Caption(s), if any, are on the BOTTOM of the corresponding picture(s).
Click on a picture to ENLARGE.

***** I'll let Jason tell you about this pocket knife. *****

"This Imperial Jack comes from the Sample Room collection in Providence. When the factory shut down the contents of the Sample Room were boxed up and brought to Ellenville and stored in the safe room at Schrade. The collection of 600+ knives consisted of some prototypes and many Imperial stock knives as well as knives from their other lines like Richards of Sheffield. They also had a lot of competitor knives, the most prevalent being Colonials. Many of the knives were in various states of disassembly or had been used for Rockwell testing but the majority appear to just be unmolested finished knives. During a visit to the factory in 1988 Albert Baer gave the entire collection to Herman Williams. Herman took them back to NC and put the boxes of knives up on a shelf in his garage where they remained for more than three decades. There’s no documentation attached to these knives, just the story passed on from Herman. Their background and chain of custody make them a unique collectible." Jason.
