Post by drbeav »

Did Case make any 6.5254 trapper knives in the years 2008 to 2014. I have never seen one - have you?

Quote from AAPK "Case Knife Handle Materials" -- https://www.allaboutpocketknives.com/co ... materials/

"Case introduced Genuine BoneStag in 2002 as a response to an Indian Sambar stag embargo. It is made from the shin bone of cows, and is jigged and treated with flame to achieve the look of genuine stag antler material."

I've never been impressed with Case's 6.5 bonestag.
Some of it looks just okay to me, but for the majority, nah.

But that's me.
Take care and God bless,

Yes, but did Case produce any 6.5254 trappers in the years 2008 to 2014? I know they made them from 2002 to 2008 and for 2015 through now -- but the 2008 through 2014 seem to be missing in everyone's collections.

You can contact Case and ask them. You can send an email to [email protected]. Or www.caseknives.com, scroll to the bottom to find phone number.

Thank you for the advice about contacting them but I have not been able to get any information what so ever out of any one about whether they actually made those knives in those years. Case customer service is no help at all.

I think 6.5 Bonestag is Case's second generation of bone jigged and flamed to look like stag. I think there was a precursor faux stag material. Perhaps it was that precursor material during those missing years?

You may be thinking of "Vintage Bone", which predated the 6.5 but did not have the burnt color.

If anyone can get a response out of Case on this issue about the years it was produced then I would sure appreciate it as I cannot get it done.
