I was fortunate to pick up this pair of GEC Mustang 74s. A stag to replace one I foolishly sold and to my surprise a stunning Black Plum jigged bone. It has quickly become an elegant favorite.

Purchased in the middle of the night on Sunday, delivered on Wednesday.
And it came all the way from Arizona. A new record.

Re: Mail Call !-Post your new pick-ups here............
I picked up a few this week. First, a Anvil Brand trapper made by Colonial. 3-3/8 inch closed, has the white delrin handles with reddish brown highlights & came in the original box. Almost like new, great snap on all blades, with positive half stops and doesn't appear to have been used. I really like the Anvil knives and did not have one with this style handles.
Next a Camillus reproduction of the George Washington Quill knife. This one is the one produced around 1938, and has the three line tang stamp with CAMILLUS CUTLERY CO. CAMILLLUS NY. The quill blade has no wobble, great snap and positive half stop. It does have some age spots and a tiny area with very fine pitting you can see with a loop. The handles have no cracks, the G. Washington imprint is visible but has none of the highlighting ink left.
Lastly, I picked up this Camillus s1705 Lineman's Jack. It was a cheapy in nasty shape when I got it and had what looked like hard tar or pitch inside the blade well and on the pile side of the blade. It has the Italic Camillus tang stamp with black delrin handles which I think puts it in the early to mid 1980's. The Sheepsfoot blade is tight, has decent snap, and does have some pitting on the pile side of the blade where the pitch was. But it cleaned up nicely, and I plan on working on the edge and making it a good EDC work knife.

jerryd, you always manage to bring a (triumphant) smile to The Monkey's smirking little face
In this case, however, you are forgiven because I have to concur...the Chestnut Bone Horseshoe shield 6207 is a beauty...GREAT GET!!!
HAPPY (early) HALLOWEEN...If you need a reason to mollify your conscience or 'better judgement', you should consider this is your "Halloween Treat" (albeit to yourself).
As for the fast shipping...all I can say is: finally the USPS proves that it actually CAN deliver in a timely (i.e., pre-Louis DeJoy) fashion.

Smitty...you are the very definition of an "Eclectic Collector"
You always manage to come up with some very interesting knives, all of which seem to fit perfectly in your 'eclectic' collection. We (you & I) must have that particular gene in common

Thanks "Q". I tend to call it an affliction known as "Sporadicus Collectavitus". As far as training the OCD Monkey, no.QTCut5 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 21, 2021 1:50 am Smitty...you are the very definition of an "Eclectic Collector"(not to be confused with the "Indiscriminate Accumulator" designation).
