Thankyou my friend. It is a fine looking knife, that is one of the great things here on AAPK. The knives posted are collected by people who have a genuine passion for pocket knives, we cannot own them all, but just being able to see them is so satisfying.

It is an A.Wright made in Sheffield England, it is a Lambsfoot blade and the covers are old reclaimed Walnut. Had a power failure this morning so I'm off to a late start, but it didn't deter me from having a fine day at the mailbox! A genuine Russian prison built auto, and a long desired Cold Steel "Tai-Pan" with satin blade! I explained "genuine" in the Switchblade Collectors forum!

Awesome looking knife, Cudgee. I really like the looks of that. Nice addition to the pile.
Very nice set of knives, Gary. Good luck with finding sheaths for them...or having them custom made.
Two great looking knives, Mark. That second one is sweet.

That is a reasonable question Marco. It happens to be a question I was rolling around in my head just yesterday. But first, yes I think your auto is a fine looking specimen of the breed. The fact of the matter is that I have never been drawn to autos. I don't know why. Never having possessed one I don't think I could tell the difference between a very fine auto and an indifferent one.
But I'll tell you what you have done. Since you have come aboard and displayed your amazing collection, I slowly, reluctantly, haltingly, find a certain stirring of interest within me. Yesterday, I even had the thought that maybe I ought to get one. No, no, I must not let this develop. I can't allow myself to get "caught" by another genre of knives. I must limit myself to admiring yours. Still...

Why not add another monkey to your back? I've said those things before myself. Said them, and lied them. Good luck with that though.Quick Steel wrote: ↑Tue Oct 19, 2021 9:50 am That is a reasonable question Marco. It happens to be a question I was rolling around in my head just yesterday. That's quite a dilemma you're facing Garry! LOL! I have a suggestion! Buy yourself a plain-jane Pro-Tech "Godfather" for about US$200., or, a Piranha "Prowler" or "Bodyguard" for about US$140. and see what all the fuss is about. I don't own any Piranha's but I want one so bad I can taste it. I do own a P/T G/F, and I can say it's one of the best built knives in my collection, everything about it is just about perfect! You'd better start grinding that organ, your monkey is getting restless!Quick Steel wrote: ↑Tue Oct 19, 2021 9:50 am That is a reasonable question Marco. QS, you know it's gonna happen.......
Fished this Ulster TL 29 out of the shallow end of the bay recently. I sure like those old WW 2 pocket knives. Not in perfect shape but about right for me. Thanks for looking.
